The newly refined 2025 Mode Ultra high-performance race wing is powered by an ultra-stiff, 38% lighter N-Xi canopy and N-Weave45 airframe.
Partial Double Skin
A lightweight canopy layer positioned on the underside of the leading edge helps to reduce drag. This layer ensures the airflow stays attached as it travels from the leading edge to the trailing edge and reduces turbulent flow under the wing., which otherwise would significantly contribute to drag.

Our primary design objectives for the Mode Ultra were speed and VMG, or Velocity Made Good, which indicates your speed towards or from the direction of the wind. The Mode Ultra’s fast, VMG-optimized design enables you to sail closer to the wind, on higher upwind angles, reducing your need to tack or gybe, so you reach the mark as quickly as possible.
N-Weave 45 Airframe
30% lighter, 3x stiffer, and 2x torsionally stiffer than a traditional Dacron (176gsm). The cross-ply reinforced N-Weave 45 airframe creates a stiffer, lighter rig that holds its shape
when under load and has a highly efficient power delivery.

Carbon UDi Technology
Anti-deflection Carbon UD tapes are sewn to the inside of the leading edge to provide additional stiffening and bend resistance while keeping the wing lightweight and responsive.
Rigid and direct – feel every micro-gust
The stability and the structure of the wing are critical for resisting deformation. The stiffness translates into a very direct feel in your hands and is extremely responsive. You can feel and maximise every micro-gust.
Canopy deflection stiffener
4mm rod battens are inserted from the trailing edge to the partial skin to improve rebound reactivity – so the canopy can reform back into shape faster when you pump, and maintain optimal tension under extreme load.
Hybrid Matrix Canopy
The load-carrying capacity of the Hybrid Matrix canopy contributes to the Mode Ultra’s high- end and increases the wind range. Matrix is a high-performance stretch-resistant wing canopy material specifically designed to handle the higher loads of the N-Weave45 airframe.
Efficient high aspect ratio design relative to wing size
A higher aspect ratio design is more efficient at higher apparent wind speeds, where the wing generates more lift for a given drag. The 4.2m has the highest aspect ratio, than the aspect ratio lowers with each size.

We’ve engineered the 2025 Mode Ultra with very thin profile sections and a reduced leading edge diameter for low drag. This increases its potential for high speed at high apparent wind speeds. The faster you go, the steadier it becomes.

The Mode Ultra starts to generate lift and stability at a higher apparent wind speed, making it more efficient at higher speeds.
Ergonomic strut shape and handle positioning for greater rider comfort
The strut's shape is ergonomically designed to push the nose of the canopy away from the rider. The further the canopy's lifting surface is from the handle, the less wrist movement is required to maintain the wing's attitude.
The lightweight and minimalist depower handle is aerodynamically optimised. The handle can be removed for additional drag reduction.
