Calendar of Wing Foil competitions in 2025

With a packed calendar of competitions organised in the world's most famous locations, the 2025 Wing Foil competition season is one to watch. Here then are the major international circuits featuring the strongest riders of the moment.

GKA Wingfoil World Tour 2025

If Wing Foil has spread rapidly around the world in recent years, it is also thanks to a series of international competitions that have showcased the sporting potential, as well as the great spectacularity and versatility of this innovative water sport. Among these events, the GWA Wingfoil World Tour stands out above all, a prestigious world circuit that showcases the talents of the strongest pro riders in the various disciplines of Wave, Big Air, Surf-Freestyle and FreeFly-Slalom.

Therefore, after the success of the 2024 edition, there was great anticipation for the GWA Wingfoil World Tour 2025 which, with a mix of iconic locations and new stages, promises even more exciting races and spectacular moments.

In 2025, the GWA Wingfoil World Tour will stop at 8 locations on 5 continents. The circuit was inaugurated last January (17-19) with an unprecedented “indoor” stage that was staged during the Boot in Düsseldorf (Germany), the world's largest boat and water sports exhibition. The innovative competition took place as an individual time trial in FreeFly-Slalom format, with riders propelled by giant fans in a 60 x 20 metre XXL pool. Taking first place on the podium were Axel Gerard and Nia Suardiaz.

Equally exciting was the wave discipline stage, which took place from 13-21 March 2025 in the historic Punta Preta spot on the island of Sal, Cape Verde. The winners in this case were the athletes Cash Berzolla and again the very strong Nia Suardiaz.

This will be followed by the Spanish stages in Tarifa (24-27 June 2025), Fuerteventura (28 July-2 August 2025) and Gran Canaria (5-8 August 2025).

After that, the circuit's caravan will move on to the glittering new stage in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates, 25 October-2 November 2025), again with a prize for the winner of 30,000 euros, to conclude in the historic and always extraordinary location of Jericoacoara, Brazil (3-6 December 2025).

The other major international circuit dedicated to Wing Foil to follow in this 2025 is the IWSA Wingfoil Racing. In this discipline, competitions follow precise class rules that establish the characteristics (size and weight) of the equipment used by the riders with the aim of ensuring that athletes of different sizes and weights can compete fairly.

The 2025 calendar of the IWSA Wingfoil Racing includes 5 World Cups in attractive locations, including the Dahkla Lagoon in Morocco for the first time, but also a new stage in China, in Daishan, which, by the way, will be the stage with the highest coefficient for the overall classification.
Four Formula events are also scheduled: the European Championships in Turkey, the World Championships in Cagliari (Italy), the Junior and Master World Championships in Portugal, and finally the Pan American Championships in Brazil.

Stages and dates of IWSA Wingfoil Racing 2025

  • World Cup Morocco: Dakhla, 19-23 March
  • European Formula Wing: Urla, Turkey, 20-24 May
