Armstrong X-Wing Performance – Proven Performance, Evolved
The Armstrong X-Wing Performance is a high-performance wing designed for riders seeking more speed, efficiency and refined power delivery. It combines lightweight handling, smooth control and exceptional glide for freeride, freerace and powered riding.
The X-Wing Performance represents the next evolution in Armstrong’s high-performance wing design. Developed for riders pushing into faster, more efficient riding, it delivers refined power, lighter handling and a composed, intuitive feel on the water.
Positioned above the XPS in the Armstrong range, the X-Wing introduces a more efficient high-aspect platform designed to maximise speed, glide and control while maintaining the smooth and predictable handling Armstrong wings are known for.
Built around an advanced Ultra PE X-Ply airframe, the X-Wing is significantly lighter, stiffer and more efficient under load, offering riders a direct and reactive connection without sacrificing comfort or stability.
Available Sizes: 2.5 m - 3.0 m - 3.5 m - 4.0 m - 4.5 m - 5.0 m - 5.5 m - 6.0 m - 6.5 m
Key Features
Power That Feels Natural
Built for riders who want to push their riding further, the X-Wing delivers increased forward drive with smooth, controlled power delivery. It generates speed efficiently while maintaining a predictable and composed feel, giving riders the confidence to ride harder and faster.
Rather than feeling aggressive or overpowering, the power builds progressively, creating a natural connection between rider and wing.
Light Where It Matters. Strong Where It Counts.
At under 2 kg, the X-Wing feels noticeably lighter in hand, especially in larger sizes where weight savings make the biggest difference.
The advanced material construction balances lightweight handling with long-term durability, delivering a wing that feels responsive in motion while remaining strong under load.
Efficiency First
The higher aspect design and refined airframe improve glide, reduce drag and make generating apparent wind more effortless. Transitions feel smoother, manoeuvres feel lighter and the wing maintains speed with less input.
In the 12 to 18 knot range, the efficiency really comes to life, offering a fast, fluid riding experience with minimal effort.
Stable, Controlled Power
The canopy is engineered to handle increased loads with minimal distortion, delivering clean release and consistent drive.
While the higher aspect ratio enhances efficiency, it also brings a more reactive feel at higher speeds. Riders looking for maximum stability in strong wind may still prefer the XPS MKII, while the X-Wing excels when efficiency and performance are the priority.

Exceptional
I have already the Lightwind 7m and XPS MKii 5.5,
I liked to have a replace for my 7m, since it was a great wing, but I liked to have a boom option, and maybe a little lighter.
The 6.5 is an amazing wing, very light weight, that is important when the wind is not pushing and you need to keep it up with your strength.
It is of course more rigid compared to the Ligthwind series, requires maybe 1 or 2 extra knots of wind, but in a 10knots windy day it was great, easy to handle,
ready to catch the gust.
