Introducing the Xtra Cado by Rob Machado, a midlength evolution of his best-selling Machadocado. Who doesn't like a little 'xtra 'cado on anything? "I have this real attraction to boards in this midlength realm. Built with Helium Core with Fiberglass Lamination.
The Xtra Cado was meant to ride smaller, gutless waves with lots of glide and float. But, because of the performance elements he brought to the shape (pulled down, thin rails, five fin box cluster, double concave with vee), this shape works quite well in larger surf too, as seen in the video above.
This shape is generously volumed hiding foam in the center of the shape thanks to the domed deck, but has pulled down, thin rails for performance when you need it. The bottom has double concave with vee running down the middle that makes the shape really user-friendly and easy to ride. It rolls side to side but still has lift, and his favorite part of the shape is the tail - a wide squash tail that foils out to be this super thin rail back through the tail, very similar to the Machadocado and some of his other shapes.
| Length | Width | Thickness | Volume |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6'6" | 20 3/4" | 2 9/16" | 38.7L |
| 6'8" | 21" | 2 1/2" | 39.3L |
| 7'0" | 21 1/2" | 2 5/8" | 44.4L |
| 7'2" | 21 3/4" | 2 11/16" | 47.1L |
| 7'6" | 21 7/8" | 2 3/4" | 50.6L |
Use the size chart above as your guide — volume (litres) is the most reliable indicator for fit. Beginners and heavier surfers generally benefit from more volume, while experienced surfers can ride lower volumes for greater performance. When in doubt, go slightly larger for everyday waves.
Check the product specifications for the exact fin system and compatible fin templates.
This board is built with Helium Core with Fiberglass Lamination.
For small surface dings, use a solar-cure ding repair kit, available at most surf shops. Sand smooth once cured. For larger or deeper damage, consult a professional shaper or board repair specialist. Always repair dings as soon as possible to prevent water from entering the foam core.
Rinse your board with fresh water after each session. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight when not in use, as UV and heat can damage the foam and resin. Store your board in a padded bag away from heat sources. Repair any dings or cracks promptly with a solar-cure repair kit to prevent water ingress into the core.
